Path Finder Privacy Policy

Path Finder is a hiking and trail navigation app developed by Wickidnezz Software. This Privacy Policy explains what information Path Finder uses, how it is handled, and what choices you have.

1. Information Path Finder Uses

Location Data

Path Finder uses your device location to show your current position on the map, calculate your distance from trails, route you to selected trail points or saved pins, show compass, bearing, GPS accuracy, and off-trail warnings, and continue active navigation while the app is minimized when you choose to start navigation.

Path Finder does not sell your location data and does not use your location for advertising.

Saved Parks and Pins

When you download a park or trail area, Path Finder stores trail data locally on your device so it can work offline. This may include:

• park name
• park boundary or map area
• trail geometry
• saved destination pins
• pin type
• optional pin description
• downloaded trail routing data

This information is stored on your device.

Search Queries

When you search for a park, trail area, state park, or natural area, your search text is sent to OpenStreetMap/Nominatim so search results can be returned. Path Finder may cache recent search results locally on your device to reduce repeated requests and improve reliability.

Trail Downloads

When you download trail data, Path Finder sends the selected park or map area bounding box to the Overpass API to retrieve OpenStreetMap trail information. Path Finder does not send your live GPS location to Overpass for trail downloads.

Map Tiles

Path Finder displays map tiles from OpenStreetMap or other configured map providers. Those providers may receive technical information such as your IP address and map tile requests needed to display the map.

2. Information Path Finder Does Not Collect

Path Finder does not require an account.

Path Finder does not collect:

• your name
• your email address
• your contacts
• your photos
• your payment information
• advertising identifiers
• health data
• messages
• files outside app storage

Path Finder does not sell personal data and does not share your saved pins or downloaded parks with Wickidnezz Software.

3. How Information Is Used

Path Finder uses information only to provide app features, including park and trail search, offline trail downloads, GPS trail navigation, saved pins, distance, bearing, compass, route calculations, and background navigation notifications during active navigation.

4. Background Location and Notifications

If you start navigation, Path Finder may continue receiving location updates while the app is minimized so it can keep navigation active and show information in a notification.

This background-style navigation is user-initiated. It starts when you choose to navigate and stops when you cancel navigation or the navigation session ends.

5. Offline Storage

Downloaded parks, trail networks, routing data, and saved pins are stored locally on your device. You can delete downloaded parks and saved pins from inside the app. You can also remove all locally stored app data by uninstalling Path Finder or clearing the app's storage in Android settings.

6. Third-Party Services

Path Finder uses OpenStreetMap-related services to provide search, map display, and trail download features. These may include:

• OpenStreetMap
• Nominatim
• Overpass API
• OpenStreetMap map tile servers or another configured map tile provider

These services are operated by third parties and may process technical information according to their own policies.

7. Data Sharing

Path Finder does not sell your data. Path Finder does not share your saved parks, saved pins, or live GPS location with Wickidnezz Software.

Some technical requests are sent to third-party map, search, and trail services when you use online features such as search, map tiles, and trail downloads.

8. Children's Privacy

Path Finder is not directed to children. The app is intended for general outdoor navigation use. Users should follow all local laws, trail rules, posted signs, and safety guidance.

9. Safety Notice

Path Finder is not a replacement for official maps, posted signs, emergency navigation, or good judgment. Trail and map data may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Always carry backup navigation and tell someone your plans before hiking.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If changes are made, the effective date at the top of this policy will be updated.
